Whelan Shut Your Mouth!
I'm lifting this directly from The Fiver Letters Section, because I don't think I could have written it any better.
"Re: Wigan chairman Dave Whelan worrying about Chelsea's domination destroying the Premiership. Is he in any way related to the Dave Whelan whose Wigan rugby league side steamrollered its way back and forth across the M62 from the late 80s to mid 90s, winning seven consecutive league titles and eight consecutive Challenge Cups?" - Ben Ineson.
An excellent point, which I just wanted to share.
While I'm at it please also read ..... THE BEAUTIFUL GAME? - David Conn

yeah but he should also know that the wage cap in super league has meant wigan haven't won a fucking thing since it was introduced there
It was probably more to do with him putting all his money into the football team instead!
Not really, they lost players to Union, others moved to other clubs as Wigan weren't going to give them more money. The salary cap in League is on the squad not the player. Your squad can only get x amount Wigan had all big name players who weren't going to get a pay rise unless they moved elsewhere. That and the rise of Bradford and the resurgence of St Helens and Leeds has seen Wigan slip. Finally big name signings like Brett Dallas on big money leaves little for the rest of the team. Its like fantasy football, having Henry in your team means you need the rest of your player to be from Sunderland
he he, you're talking to me about Rugby League like I give a fuck or understand a word of what you're saying.
Excellent.
Well you posted it you southern poofter
SPEAKUTH UP NORTHERN MONKEY!
I liked what Wenger said about the proposed salary cap.
Paraphrased here:
"What's to stop a multinational organization in charge of a club from paying a player's grandfather in Belarus 2 million pounds a year"
